Hot material can cause the belt to burn if stationary on the belt

 

Frictional overheating

• Drive pulley ceases and causes friction between the belt and the pulley

• When the belt comes to a standstill the heat increases exponentially

 

Roller bearing overheating

• Bearing ceases due to the lack of grease or maintenance
